Ramiro Cairo works as an artist and musician in San Francisco. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1971, where he grew up, studied, and worked until 2011. After living in London and Brooklyn, NY, he finally moved to San Francisco in 2014.
As a young boy, he used to take apart his toys to see how they looked inside and how they worked. Many times, he couldn't put them back together into their original state and they no longer worked. With this spirit of curiosity, in 2003, he created the brand "Doméstico - design on designs" where he focused on making objects of design using household goods that no longer functioned. Since moving to the United States, he markets his products under his own name, Ramiro Cairo. His visual art styles include Design, Photography and Video.
In 2016 Ramiro moved his creative process to visual art. With a background in technical and architectural drawing Ramiro’s latest work has been focused on free-hand drawn lines that led him to observing the woodgrains and the interaction with paper. These two materials are the core of his latest work called Mutation.
Ramiro has also been a professional Drummer since 1997, performing, composing, and teaching.
