Mutation (2023-2024)

The Mutation series is inspired by the nature of the interior of the trunk of a tree, generating an abstract interpretation of the lines that are produced as a result of the cut of a trunk which, with the passage of time, creates rings that can be read as lines or veins when that cut is longitudinal. Paper as a symbol of its source, trees and wood, returns to its origin through these compositions.

The mutation series is a body of work that I started working on last year when I started being inspired by the mysteries found inside a tree trunk where lines or rings come together and have a unique "fingerprint".
